TUNING 1.6 ZETEC SI ENGINE

Postby Fez Si Boy on Thu Jun 26, 2003 3:06 pm

Whats the most bhp gain that I could get out of a 1.6 zetec Si engine? I was thinking along the lines of a scorpian exhaust and cams?

So the zetec 1.6 Si engine is 90bhp as standard, what extra bhp will I get out of a chip?

unfortunately not much i know everyone says it but a 2 litre conversion is fairly easy to do and that gives you 115+ brake to start with!!!
with air filter and exhaust and chip i reckon bout 105-110 bhp absolute tops but i really don't know what each gives so someone else may be better equipped to deal with your question!

If u can be arsed to do a 2.0 conversion then do so, if not just go with the above u've mentioned and mine. :)

Just wait for someone to whinge and say "but it'll cost the same"

I thought the 2.0L engines gave 130bhp as standard?

You could probably do all the above and still not reach that. But you could tune that 130 to 150 easy enough.

no point really, this topic has been gone over quite a few times before and everytime they come to the conclusion that its not really worth it.

rs1800 enigne or 2.0 is the best option :)

and the 2.0 is 136 bhp :D
