Look at post about tuning 1800, as everything regarding throttle bodies and head and cam are basically the same. Have u just picked up a two litre then?

So what air filters and exhausts could you recommend? Just wondered which were considered the best for this type/size of engine...

as far as filters go i picked up a bit of a bargain from halfords of all places! there gettin rid of green cone filters for xr2i 1800 zetecs £30, half price. This may fit your engine, ive fitted one to my 1800 and it had a big difference and gave a nice roar, might be worth a look.

Well im still in the investigation stage for a 2 litre trying to weigh out my options with insurance being the main problem I reckon. I think theres not much difference between induction kits cos to be honest an engine will suck as much as it can but the filter will make it suck that little easier. For an exhaust i dunno but i expect a custom one will be needed. A few people on here have done the conversion so they would be best to ask. In fact the more I talk about a 2 litre the more I want it. :D

Y r u getting rid of the 2i and getting a si, as now im worried cos iv got a 2i. I hope ur not doing it cs the 2.0 will not fit in a 2i or something harsh likme that, cos now me plans are ruined. :( The bloke with the mk1 fezzie has got throttle bodies on his and he got 180 bhp. Then the usual stuff like head, cams, lighten and balance everything, high compression pistons, strengthen the internals, the list is endless and all depends on your bank balance cos most of it aint cheap. :D

the 2.0 Zetec is the same size as the 1.8 Zetec so it will fit in a 2i no probs.

the "bloke" with the mk1 is Graham. :)

The Yanks are in to fitting UDPs (Under Drive Pulleys) on their Zetec engines.

They replace the crank pulley that drives the water pump etc, with a smaller diameter, machined alloy pulley. Cos it turns the water pump etc slower, they reckon you can save as much as 6HP just by fitting one.

I've not tried one on my car yet, but I'm tempted. Anyone else tried one?

Moulder....only reason im fitting it into an Si is cos its one hell of a lot easier to do! You can simply plug a Series 2 Mondeo lump straight in (only have to swap a few bits n pieces).
Plus I've always quite liked the Si so thought i mite as well get one!

Graham is did see a test on these somewhere, and they gained around 1-2 bhp when they fitted the pulleys!!, if your gonna be revving it hard it may be worth it, just so the waterpump works right and doesn`t just put bubbles everywhere don`t know what sort of rpm it starts to do this though.

Yeah id do that but i love me 2i even though iv only ever drove it round the block since I bought it. Well as long as it actually bolts in using the same engine mountings as the cvh, and I can use a zetec or cvh gearbox with the relevant drive shafts, the wiring is the least of my worries as me old man had been working with electricals for the last 40 yrs so he assurese me well crack the wiring. Any1 elseput a 2.0 inot a cvh and shed some light on the matter.

I know you'll need a Zetec engine mount...theres other stuff that needs changing over too, but you'd be better speaking to someone more in the know...i'm taking the easy option out!

I may fit one. Maybe the hose blew off from the pressure caused by the high revs. Bet it really was just me with a bit of brain fade though.
