Tuning my 16v si

Postby AntVan on Tue Feb 25, 2003 5:51 pm

Ive already got an induction kit and De-cat and full system and have noticed the difference but how can i get it quicker whilst still keeping it normally aspirated, anyone know?
Can you put bigger throttle bodies on it maybe from a 1800 zetec lump(130 ps).
I am planning to chip it and get a power boost valve but is there any other way of getting it quicker???????

Help would be much appriciated, Thanx guys

Ant :D

you'd have to spend big bucks getting lots of power from the 1600 zetec in the Si, they are too restrictive which is why they are insurance friendly (bugger)

apart from the aformentioned filter, de-cat, zorst, there is a chip, set of cams, rs1800 or 2ltr mondeo throttle bodies that can help that gain. even a squirt of the NOS treatment will help ;) ( damn my missus for banning me from having that )

you'll never get massive power, which is why so many people go the rs1800 or 2ltr mondy engine route !!

but at a guess, all set up properly you could see 120bhp with those changes

i also believe specialised engines (advertise in fast ford, perf ford etc) do stage 1,2,3 engine conversions (dunno what it involves), but they can go up to £2k, and a supercharger will set you back £5k !!
