what does your money allow you to do..?
first things norm done is exhaust and air filter, followed by cam, if ya want a 4 branch manifold and tbh, thats about all most do really.
some stick in a chip but can see a chip making much difference on a N/A engine

wish i had money to spend like that.
well i did one day, think the most i spent in 1 day on bits for my rs was about £1100, and that was for samcos, avos and rear disc conversion.
sure there was something else though

have you considered a turbo conversion? if not, get a fully rebuilt 1600cc engine running either TB's or Carbs on a race spec head and high compression bottom end...revving to about 6800rpm it will produce 150hp....give or take a bit....

have you considered using a 2L Zetec engine? 150hp is easy from one of those...and produces 130hp as standard!

2l is too big not that i dont want one in future just for now its too big. i been thinking about turboing it but a few things are putting me off the difficulty finding coolant hoses for a 2i engine and then the difficulty of finding a good relatively cheap t3 and manifold
