Hello all,

i know before everybody gets on the bandwagon and says go 2.0ltr i am just going to say i wont to learn about the 1.6 Cvh and just generally learn about engines,

I am looking to rebuild this engine but @ the same time i am going to be tuning it,

I have looked into a few parts to purchase for the rebulid/tuning and this is what i have come up with

Kent cam or Piper Cam (Whats better?)
Vernier Pulley
bigger injectors (Which 1's to go for?)
skimmed head
Port and polished head
Power Boost Valve? (is this wise?)
Bigger Air filter

well thats all that i have come up with so far but was posting this as i am sure some people have played around with this engine before and they could help with pointing me in the right direction

bigger injectors (Which 1's to go for?) Not required
skimmed head
Port and polished head Yes but leave the valve sizes alone
Power Boost Valve? (is this wise?) Waste of time and money
Bigger Air filter Not needed

My old 2i made just over 130bhp with:

Polished & ported head (port matchedto the manifolds)
Piper cam & vernier
4 branch manifold
Custom stainless exhaust
Chip
Fuel pump (upgraded as standard one died)
Induction kit

Fuel Pump - which 1 did you go for? Cossie?
Chip which chip did you use too

As above, i use a piper 285T2 cam in my zvh,

but for an xr2i i think a kent one will suffice?

fuel pump you prob wont need as 2i and rst ones are same AFIAK

port matching is something to spend alot of time getting right as it will help no end, reducing any restrictions on the manifold and pipework

i would modify your standard air box (lower half of) get more air into it with a good cold air feed
