Tuning Up :(
Hello all,
I currently have a 1.3 Fiesta MK3.5 M Reg, OHV CFI (48,000) and I want to sort it out in the summer. I am having problems when moving slow and slowing down. it is really jumpy and feels like its about to kangeroo all over the show. I also have a problem when coming to a stop and putting the clutch on it takes a while for the revs to drop. not long but longer then u would expect.
I have a k&n airfilter and i've drilled my airbox. and I think I have lost some compression in the engine. I am planning to do away with the drilled airbox and get a backbox or full system. not sure on the full system because its only a 1.3 and probably won't do much performance wise.
I am just wondering what you think I should be replacing and tightening to sort the engines performance out to get rid of the problems i am experiencing and also anything to get the most out of my engine? Apart from the normal response get a new engine. ( Can't afford to, however much I would love a FRST, plus I'm only 18 ) If you could get back to me on this it would be very appreciated.
Cheers

First suspect would be a faulty throttle position sensor (TPS) - you can check it the same as any potentiometer or try a Ford STAR test (but these aren't particularly cheap).
You might be able to pick up a replacement from a breakers for a couple of $.
