Tuning xr2i

Postby FRST mad on Mon Feb 10, 2003 10:54 pm

Stealing the question from jsturbo (sorry mate) whats the best way to tune up my xr2i to maybe 160 - 180bhp?

I know it would probably be easier AND cheaper to buy a fezzy turbo but l've done so much work on gettin this car right i dont want to get rid of it yet.

Any ideas would be appreciated :)

I have a 2.1 ZVH with throttle bodies and at one point it was put out 180bhp but now it has more.
Now driving a 1999 Audi S3 with 2.1 20v OD HTAGT3582r Turbo

Bring on the 650+Bhp 4x4 monster

I saw a 154bhp 2i on the rollers the other week, gasflowed head, cam, higher compression ratio, injectors, ECU work, exaust, etc, etc
Must have been done on a student budget  :D

didn't half roar

Putting a turbo on that i reckon would make for a very impressive BHP Figure, i think a Fezzy turbo is that standard.

Sounds good mixon. If you get [ERRR] more info bout it let us know mate.

Putting a turbo on it would be good, it would probably put out around 160ish bhp dont u think?

Why not drop a bigger engine in it instead of all that mincing around?!

How about getting the head ported?

How many BHP would that add experts?

Considering that myself.

The standard CVH 8 valve 1596 gives out 110 BHP.

If you get a stage 2 head and a kent or piper cam you'd expect to see a extra 15-20bhp.
