Turbo Charging..

Postby Mike on Wed Sep 03, 2003 1:15 pm

I would like to eventually turbo charge my 2i, but I was wondering if anyone on here would know how much this would cost?

No point, just do a FRST conversion. Plenty of FRST engines going spare.

I was thinking about that as well but you also have to change all the wiring, ecu etc to go with it and I dont know how much this would cost either, any ideas?

You would have to anyhow mate, XR2i ECU will not run a turbo engine.

I've seen FRST engines and all parts including ECU and loom going for about £300-350 on here. Infact I believe someone is selling one right now in the for sale section

Have a browse about

It is possible to turbocharge the 2i.
You have to weld a oil return pipe into the sump among all the other things like intercooler, ecu. etc etc

But it wouldnt be worth it at the end of the day because of the compression, meaning you can only run aprox 5psi safely!
