i want to convert my 1990 2i to an rs turbo. is it still possible to buy a complete engine from ford? should i buy reconditioned ( can some one recommend a reliable source?) or should i buy second hand and get it rebuilt myself? also, is the s2 escort cvh any different to the frst? what else am i going to need for the conversion?

I bought a new engine and gearbox from Ford last year.

(due to broken gearbox hinge on engine )

So they're available.

about 1k for the engine, but that's only engine.

Better source 2nd hand one or a fiesta turbo with broken engine ?

Its ok back again £1000 for an engine from ford, a 1.6 cvh engine from ford for £1000.

Surely you meant £100 not £1000.

I picked a 1.6 turbo lump, still in packaging, (aka brand new) from brooklyn ford motorsport for £50!!!!! Don't order it go to a ford sale at one of their garages!!!!
