Turbo Noise

Postby MattL on Mon Sep 22, 2003 4:41 pm

My standard turbo is farily new, has done about 5 thou miles. When it was fitted the car was rollon roaded to check all the setup etc.

But when you giv it a fair bit of stick on the motorway, over about 4-4500rpm the turbo gets a bit noisy, it aint whistly but i cant really decribe the noise. Is this normal when ur cainin it hard or?

[ERRR] help wud b much appreciated

Thanks

It usually makes a slight whining noise, if you are hearing a loud hiss or something it's more likely to be induction roar

Around those revs on my car I can hardly hear the stereo!

STONED Or ne1,

The noise i get is wen i go full throttle in top gear over about 4000rpm. If [ERRR] thing it sounds more like a rattle and i'm positive its cumin from the turbo. I think it makes the noise it all gears wen u cain it hard up2 bout 5500 rpm but its just the loudest in fifth?
