turbo temps

Postby Straight882003 on Thu Oct 11, 2007 9:17 pm

hi folks just had my fez turbo back with a new recon engine and when i was driving home from work the temp gauge was at 12,o clock "just befor the red" and the fan was on but the temp stayed the same is this ok as i thought the temp should go up to the "O" but no higher. But i know turbos run much hotter so this is why im asking is it ok to drive as everything seems to be fine

It shouldn't be that hight sounds like a problem has it got a front mounted intercooler? are all the water hose's hot? Try a new thermostat and i would gat a new temp sensor just to make sure the reading on the ghauge is right

Make sure all the hoses are warm as the coolant system may be air locked. Failing this the sensor could be broken or the thermostat stuck
