Re: Turbo timer??!
intelli-start allows you to turn the car on remotely, turbo timers leave the engine running for a set period of time after the keys been removed from the ignition to let the engine (and turbo) cool down

Re: Turbo timer??!
do you havea clifford concept alarm?
if so you can have it wired so that you press a button and the gnition will remain on for a pre set amount 0of time with the keys out of the ignition giving you an inbuilt turbo timer from the alarm.
inteli-start works in the way that it will remotely start the car but you have to turn it off with the fob or by getting in the car and turning it off so can not be used as a turbo timer as such.
hope this has helped.

I would agree. Some insurers will actually void your policy if you use one and some of the alarm manufacturers state in the bumpf that having the turbo timer feature activated may void the alarms Thatcham approved status which means insurance void again. It's also an offence to leave a vehicle running whilst unattended.
Seems like an awfull lot of hassle, why not take the last few miles home nice and steady and let everything cool nicely?

Re: Turbo timer??!
i have a turbo timer fitted to my rs, mainly becuase it came in a rs i sold on and took it out that one, and tbh, since its been in my rs i havent really used it.
plus with the anti hijack crap thats with my alarm when you switch engine off the doors unlock, and yes thats right, set the turbo time, get out lock up and walk away, car shuts off and doors unlock so i never use it.
when i get round to removing it you welcome to it for a score and ill even send the little case i made for it,
its a apex one too

Also allows other parts to cool as well. If you attend a track day you are told to come off after doing a complete low speed low reving lapto allow all th ecomponents to cool down. Leaving the engine just running while static after thrashing the crap out of it can mean it ends up cooking itself.
