You can but you will have to fit a decompression plate for any worthwile gains
You will also have to disable vct i believe, im pretty sure someones making manifolds to fit the puma to bolt a turbo on, havent got a clue who though
Probably need bigger injectors and aftermarket management too
I know quite a few people have done it so its definately doable

At a rough estimate and depending on the setup,an increase of 30-40% in hp could be gained. Not sure on the costs,as you will need downpipe fabrication, boost hoses,an intercooler, perhaps bigger injectors as stated before, perhaps bigger rad since the cooling demands are higher or an oil cooler and maybe a fuel pump if yours is not adequate for the fueling, labour and setup costs and further that you need to do something with the brakes, since it must stop too  Also keep in mind that even if your gearbox can cope the power, chances are that it will wear a bit faster. Is it affordable? It is not an easy job,but can be done. You must do it properly, otherwise you will pay all the time and you won't have a car.I know,I may be sound as a dissapointment but this is something more than a simple bolt on job.
