turbocharging a HCS!!!!!!!! Yeah right!

CVH and Zetec tuning, suspension and braking mods.

Was thinking about doing this for a kinda laugh but at the same time wondered a rough idea of what would be involved?
I know the bottom end would need to be strengthened, forged pistons, and that, i could do the compression ratio myself as well i think. I know someone who could knock me up a new manifold to include the turbo, or mod a fezzie one for me.
What would be involved with the extra fueling tho? i have a carbed engine so the sensor that would be there on an injected car can't detect all the extra air going in and the air/fuel ratio will be well pete! Would i have to devise some crude mechanical method of getting the extra fuel in?

This sounds like more trouble than it's worth. HCS stands for High Compression Swirl so the complete engine is wrong for turbo's.
It would cost you a fortune to change the engine, you would be cheaper buying a RST engine.

cheers

drop compression with 1300cfi pistons

adjust combustion chambers accordingly

use IHI turbo from peugeot diesel, not sure about carb kits never looked into it - but use the edis system.

would be quite enertaining! was going to build a little buggy thing in summer hold but never got round to it

i havea K&N air filter on my HCS and with it you get a larger jet screw thingy for the carb to increase fuelling but this wont change fuelling as more air goes in will it !

well, in short its a waste of time!:bonkers: rip out your HCS sell it for £150 (going rate fo a good one) and fit the full unit from an Escort or Fiesta RS.

OR run NOS on the HCS and it will be rapid off the mark!!! but it will last about 2 weeks!

Yeah. Just like in the Fast and the furious, when the cop blows his FTO.

Good action though.

Certainly good for some attention......
