does it have to be turbo? you could always supercharge it. either way both of them are about as difficult as each other to do but turbos are more common.

it is just a zetec isnt it? if so follow any turbocharging a zetec guide. shouldnt be too difficult.

Zetec S uses the Yamaha derived motor so normal Zetec Turbo procedures won't be of much use.

Do you really want to turbo it as you can make these little buggers scream and keep them N/A

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

You will get better results for your money if you keep it n/a, with the 1.6 zetec se engine you can get nearly 240bhp with throttle bodies, big valve heads etc. You would need to spend lots of money rebuilding the whole engine if you wanted good reliable power from a turbo, you'd be looking at around 0.3bar of boost safely on a standard engine, that would get you about 140bhp.

If your car is a phase 2(black plastic rocker cover)then nip onto shawspeed's website and check out their tuning options, alot of kit for not to much money. The horspower figures are predicted on a car already with a full exhaust sytem and 4-2-1 manifold.

Prices start from around £1300 for ss2 profile cams and omex 600 management system and a filter, however this is not fitted. This should get you around 150 bhp when mapped correctly. There is also a 170nhp kit with ss4 cams, around £1500.

Hope this helps. PM me if you have any questions.
