to get the potential of the 40's you have to do some head work to improove flowing. choose a proper cam too.

ECU probably not a good idea. Try and run a normal mech dissy like one off a erst. Tanks and pumps will need to be changed or modified to standard carb tank and facet elec pump (carb one). Carbs run at low pressure, inj at higher, if you run an inj pump on carbs you just push the fuel through them and BORE WASH. It ain't too hard to do, well easier than inj cars. You probably won't have to fit the 2i loom in either if you run carbs, just get the essentials and make a new custom loom! Wire up sensors to custom dash and clocks. Should look fat, none of this wires everywhere that are useless that you get with a std loom.

say bye-bye to ECU.
HEAD: ported std valve, new guides, shortened, reshaped + cvh33 cam + DCOEs...

the result... => ~ 135-140 bhp (flywheel)

Oh bit far for the guy I think. Ask as many questions as you like, thats what I come here for, to answer questions and help fellow tuners, even though it seems I have to fight off the barrages of "thats not how mines done your a muppet" comments.

Lol!

Boys! Stop it! :grin:

I have a carb fuel tank you can HAVE - take it off me!
The XR2i head can be converted to run a carb's fuel pump, but you may want to keep the EFi fuel tank and fit an adjustable regulator which allows you a lot more control over the fuelling.

As for wiring, there are about 3 wires needed to run a carb ignition system and if you buy yourself a race-spec dizzy it should come with everything you need.

Try Demon Tweeks for some ideas, then shop around for prices :wink:

Whoooh there nelly. Have you ver put twin 40s on a cvh? they take up about 1/2 the space where the pump goes! You need an after market electric fuel pump for carbs as they run at about 6psi and injection is MUCH higher psi. I have a spare pump kickin about if you want it its a facet red top pump, only the best will do! e-mail me if your interested or want any tips.
