kind of odd thought why does nobody (that i know of) run a twin turbo setup on a fez. seems to me to be an easy way to lagless boost

sailorbob :The cost :)

Plus the lack of space, and the lack of need for over 275bhp unless you have 4WD. The lag on a turbo required for 275bhp isn't bad enough to require a smaller primary turbo :)

A T3 can come in many varieties, compressor and turbine wheels can be different, along with the AR ratio.

To add to that even if all of the above are the same a turbo usually has a different compressor map as turbo manufacturers build housings differently etc...

Your best bet is to get the map of the turbo and compare etc....

twin turbo on a 4cyl engine is really something that you don't wont to mess with unless you really really really know what are you doing.

There are two possible configurations:

- 2 cyl exhausting into one turbo and te other 2 cyl to the other turbo.
Bad spool up. Too much inconsistant flow from turbo.
This is a solution used only on 6cyl and beyond.

- Sequencial turbos
One small turbo for low rev and a bigger turbo to high rev.
Difficult to make and EXPENSIVE.

Stick to just one turbo (the new garrett ball bearing turbos are really great... up to when it needs to be reconditioned) with a well made exhaust manifold (primary designs are the ones for the best of the best).

Here's an example of what a twin-turbo (sequential) 4cyl engine bay looks like (Focus):
