When my Escort was in daily use I used to get through a set of front Yoko's in about 12-14 months. The rears are still the original ones and despite track days are still going strong

16v :i no i don't want to buy cheap tyres but i just can't afford expensive tyres as im only 16 lol
Dont mean to sound rude, but you can't drive it yet anyway. Fair play if you are doing it up ready for when you can.

funny you say that, i have Continenta on the back, been on there for, er, this is 4th year i think, they only done about 20k miles and a dozen or so hand brake turns but i would go so far to say that they prob only about 1/4 wornat best between 1/4 and 1/2.
as for side walls, ther not real wide and they round off nice, but theres other makes that are better

I'm after some 195/40/16s.
I have shopped around and found a few cheap sites.
mytyres.co.uk incl delivery
Continental - 71.90
Dunlop - 63.00
camskill.co.uk incl delivery
Continental - 62.00
Toyo Prox - 56.00
valuetyres.co.uk
Continental - 64.41
Dunlop - 82.00
uk.autothek.com
Continental - 64.53
Dunlop - 61.04
Pirelli - 64.53
topgear.co.uk
Continental - 61.42
tyretraders.com
Dunlop - 74.00
Toyo Prox - 58.00
Fulda - 52.41
So the cheapest are - Fulda @ 52.41 But I have never heard of them so going to give them a miss.
2nd Cheapest is Toyo Proxes.
What do people think of Toyo Proxes? Any good?
Better /worse than Kumro/Nankang?

Yeah they are the T1-R ones.
So what do people think is the best deal? I realise cheaper isn't always better. The continentals don't seem to be directional.
Contintentals for £248
Dunlops for £244
or the Toyo T1-Rs for £224
?????
