Have Yoko A539 on the golf which are very nice tyres for the car - at least, when they go back on they will be (are on the old alloys atm). Have Toyos on the coupe, not bad generally but I'd like a little more grip in the wet. Prefer P7000's myself, but they're not available in the tyre sizes I use these days and I'm loathe to put 17's on.
Nothing to see here...

I'm using dunlop sp sport maxx at the moment and can't fault them at all. Fairly quiet tyre for a 40 profile and wet and dry grip are both fantastic.

toyo's are a good tyre I ran yoko A539s for 5yrs but would rate the toyo's better. If you can afford the extra money I would use continental sport contacts really good in the dry and the wet.

I run Yoko A539's on my FRST and at best I would describe them as "ok". Continental Sport Contacts are stonking as are Toyo Proxes

Practical Performance Car (May 2008) did a track day tyre test and the tyres that came out on top are the Silverstone RR, Yokohama A048 and the Toyo R888. The cars they were tested on were a 200bhp Westfield and a Mk2 Golf GTi.

There was very little difference between the Yokos and the Toyos apart from the Yokos being a softer compound and so warmed up quicker.

Overall the Silverstone RR were declared this best.

They wouldn't last long on the road and I know with teh PRada's on my S2 you only have to think water and the grips gone

My dunlops are good in the wet.

Just promise never to buy stunner scudos EVER!!!!

They are terrible. I had these on my car when I baught it and changed to the dunlops and since then it drives like a totally different car. I had no confidence in the cars grip or anything with those tyres on. The main problem I have had with the stunners was that the side walls had split on both fronts after about 10000 miles
