I'm back! :D:D
Ahh what a day, the light at the end of the tunnel is now here! Don't know where to start really, so I'll go for random Mm no, I'll put some pics up:
Rawli on the left, CRF in the middle, me on the right:
The chive smoker
Rawli's and CRF's:
That was at an Esso garage where I had to fill up, seeing as mapping took about 2/3 or a tank of petrol Chris (CRF) surprised me by turning up at MSD, then Rawli and Andi arrived soon after, and we all trooped off to Matt's (StreetDragster's) place to...well....talk b0llocks to be quite frank No-one mention sheep in bags or else  Gits
So I took Matt out in it for a bit for some testing etc, I've only had the opportunity for one overtaking manoevre so far, but it came and went before I'd thought about it really!
So after waving bye-bye to Matt and Chris, Rawli, Andi and I set off for Preston to see a mate of mine from uni (utter nutter). We had a bit of a play around on the dual carriageway then stopped off for my mate to come in the car with me, and for a couple of photo's:
Check out the brake dust Rawli scribbled nonsense crap on the right hand wheel :p Revenge will be mine!!
I don't know what else to say really. The car's faultless in its running, bar the issue of the cooling fans I've mentioned. We were sitting in traffic for about 10 minutes in Preston and the temp climed to N in "NORM", but it should be ok once I've reversed a fan. It was solid all day and all the way home, I think I'm in love
Going to nip out for a spin now and see if there's anything worth filming, then I might chuck a video up if there's anything worth you lot seeing

Actually...on a more serious note, I must say that each time my foot hovered over the accelerator I was reminded of Rob (elm_us) who was sadly killed last year after collecting his dream car - a red Zetec Turbo Fiesta. Although it's perhaps on my mind a little too much, I'm pleased that something positive has come from the loss of Rob, and I hope others get the same whisper in their ear when they think of trying that blind overtaking move. Drive safely people

Yo everybody! Just got in from an entire night spent blasting around, and man, is this thing an animal I think it's 210-220bhp, possibly a smidge more or less, but it can be a real handful on the more demanding roads. I think it's perfectly-powered though, not too much, not too little. We all know power can be controlled with the throttle pedal, but you can definitely have too much in a front wheel drive car.
I've taken over half an hour of footage, including some bits I think I'd better not put up on here....in fact, most of it's like that sadly, but such is life! I'll chop it up tonight and see what I can put together to show you all. Ended up having a tussle with a Nissan Turbo something or other, he looked lairy so I hung back (which he took to mean "that Fiesta can't keep up" If only he knew... ) and when we reached a town I motioned them to pull up, and the driver was hammered Was very disappointed, explained his driving, so I made my disapproval known. Had a drink (Pepsi) with them then bumped into an old teacher. Took him for a blast He looked a bit wobbly when he got out
Anyway, I'll get a video up when I can, had the time of my life Still no high boost trials yet!

Thanks dudes!
Mandy - All in due course my friend, when there's something that won't get me into trouble, I'll make a video of it for all to see

Melv Bruv innit - Cheers matey How's the XR2T3? Have you made the move down south now?
Project - One gasket one the block...then decompression plate...then gasket...then head. I thought the plate had been bonded to the block, but that's not the case. It certainly isn't a normal "double head gasket" job though! The plate acts as a second "block face" really, so no sealing issues to get over.

well done james
good to see it all running as it should. this time next week mine should be on the rollers being tweeked.
don't think i'll get 220 bhp though. 150 will be ok for me.

Thanks Chris Just about to take the bumper and intercooler off to relocate one fan to the radiator and switch the wiring round. 150bhp in a Fiesta definitely gives it plenty of poke, you'll need it to get up those hills at the Ring!
Ben - Will try to get one up tonight

Was a cool day Chris, and yeah, I think everyone other than us five think we may have lost the plot with regards to sheep and bags :bonkers:
I've taken the bumper and cooler off and put the left hand (driver's side) fan on the radiator instead of the intercooler. Flipped the wires round on it and from the fans coming on to going off took ten seconds! Job done! Very promising, so sitting in traffic on hot days should be just fine, even after a blast. Mission accomplished I so love this car

I thought the plate was bonded to the block, and when I saw three headgasket-looking things between the head and the block (only noticed when I got home!! ) I thought "WTF is that?!!" Then Mark explained it was a 1.5mm spacer with two gaskets, so they all looked quite similar. If I were going to do it, I'd probably do that as well, because even though the spacer and the block can be skimmed off, you can still get indescrepencies in the faces be it due to removed material getting in the way of the cut when they're faced, or heat-related distortions....so two gaskets are probably better than one in this case
