I've got a custom made Radtec radiator, it's 60mm longer than the FRST radiator, couldn't have had it much longer really because of the intercooler pipes. I've got an 8" fan sucking through from the intercooler, and another one blowing through the front of the radiator. Both fans were originally on the intercooler but it just wasn't good enough, with the water temp rising up to the "N" in "NORM" if I sat in traffic for more than 2-3 minutes, and that's not even hard giving it power. I relocated one fan to blow through the front of the radiator and it's good now. The fans can still take a while to go off if I've been giving it some beans and I come to a halt, but the temp will not rise over the "O" in NORM, so I'm happy. I might upgrade the radiator's fan to a 10" item if there's room, but it's fine for now :) Hope that gives you an idea of what you might need! There are some pics in a thread titled something along the lines of "Help with my Radtec intercooler car getting too hot" or something, in General forum, quite recently-posted by j18aoc or something.

Oh right, you didn't see me the next day though? Not sure I remember a 4x4 :-? Glad you liked it though, cheers for that! I'd begin making excuses for coolant splatters, oil sprays, CV joint grease spray, but I don't care, it all works and it can look how it wants

As for teh question of boost spike, well, if anyone really wants to know what they are used for, make a new topic and e-mail me a link and i will explain. Its all about Induction stroke time base.

Ello Stu. The only problem I've had with the car in 3,000 miles of motoring (in the one month between picking it up from you and returning to uni!) is the rear gearbox mount failing and putting the turbo through a couple of tubes in the rad. Pro Alloy sorted it pronto and it was back on the road before the following weekend, with new gearbox mounts, modified cradle and camber adjustable/rose jointed lower arms, all back on the day before Trax :D It's been absolutely superb, but it is only spiking at 15psi and holding 12. I'd like it to hold 15 really, but I think Kenny was sure the actuator bracket flexing is what stopped it hitting and holding 1 bar.

Im pleased to read it pal :D
Shame about the boost, get the bracket beefed up and come across one day for us to up the boost and check the fuel system is still working to spec for you. :)

Talking of spikes, ive just done a big essay on those in the link above :D  :aviator:

Yeah I have a few things planned for christmas, one being the clutch pedal modification required for the AP paddle clutch. It drags the smallest amount, but makes my gear changes less than slick, and when that's combined with a brand new CTS 'box it's really not making the most of what I have! So hopefully I'll sort the actuator bracket out at the same time and then think about getting down to you to re-sort things. Charge temps have been from 9 degrees on full boost to about 28 degrees (wet/cold day to hot/dry day) so I think it should still be healthy with Stage 1 boost at 10psi but bring Stage 2 up to a held 14-15psi with a little spike perhaps.

Will reply in the spike thread :)

There's no real hurry for that. I have a few jobs to do:

1. Carry out the dreaded manual adjust pedal modification to allow sufficient adjustment of the clutch. The paddle clutch gives the auto adjust stuff a hard time, which is why my clutch still drags a touch and gives me extremely slow gearshifts, and hence terrible 0-60 times!

2. Fit and plumb in the oil cooler.

3. Re-wire the fans to incorporate individual relays.

4. Fit a catch tank.

5. Stiffen up the actuator bracket to allow a touch more boost, then get it checked over at MSD.

I think that's all I have to do now, but won't bother with the rolling road till that's all completed. Knowing what power it's making doesn't make it any faster or slower, but it would be nice to know.

Jim manual clutch adjuster is honestly not that bad, only touble i had was space and ended up shopping the heater feed to the drivers side air vent.

would be whole lot easier with the dash out tho thats for sure

So true, the job itself isn't that difficult, its the limited space that makes it hard.

I ended up taking the dash and vents out, made it soooooooooooooooo much easier.
