Uprated engine mounts

Postby MattPym on Tue Jan 29, 2008 12:22 pm

Just went into Ford there to get some new engine and gearbox mounts as mine are f**cked and making it a nightmare to drive

Anyway, According to the guy in there he said that the gearbox mounts are €70 each, back engine mount is €80 and the side engine mount is €213 :o On top of that he's not even sure if he can get them still

So looking at over €500 to do the mounts if he can get them :o i'm wondering are there any companies that make uprated engine mounts and what kind of price are.

I know vibra-technics do gearbox mounts but what about engine mounts?

I'm half tempted to break out the silicon gun at home and fill a pair of mounts i have at home!

that was written incorrectly, ment to say i never noticed any harsh feel through the steering or car itself, but under load the engine does'nt budge :D

Wonder if it's better than a standard one filled with sikaflex.

matt i got the 2 main engine mounts off ashley ford in phibsbrough for 150 that was the rear mount, the bracket for the mount to the engine, and the big front one that goes by the alternator. I ordered them yesterday and he said they'll be in late friday or early monday morning, so they are still available and there are a few sets in ford dealers over here, my ones are coming from somewhere in cork or limerick i think he said
