uprated master cylinder for cossie brakes
Really id like to know for both st170 and cossie setups. Will i need to uprate my master cylinder, because im driving a 1.1 1992
Yes the brake upgrade probably seems pointless at the moment, but Ill be putting a bigger engine very very soon!
thanks
Tim

I have the Cossie 4wd front/RS2000 Rear setup .. with standard FRST master brake cylinder setup.
yes, the pedal travel is greater
Yes, It still brakes fine
Yes, you can dose the brakes perfectly.. if you want to breake slightly .. you push in the pedal slightly
No, my wheels don't lock instantly
Yes, i can make my wheels lock by pushing the pedal a bit further that normal
For street/semi race use it's oke..
For circuit use.. the pedal travel is to much..
I would leave the standard master brake cylinder

I think the brake cylinder and servo is the same across the range on the Fiesta unless it's an ABS model.
When you press the pedal you dont want loads of travel, you want instant bite. A Fiesta master cylinder will NOT do that once you upgrade the brakes.
So yeah up to you and your risk, but I upgraded mine to an MK5 Escort 1.6 master brake cylinder and servo without ABS and even with proper disks and calipers all round (Granada rears, not RS2000's) I had instant bite again.

xrsi how are your brake cylinders modded so they fit direct?
And would you not need to also upgrade the servo for the greatest effect?
If you look at the Mondeo's the server is MUCH bigger to cope with the extra weight and power required.
In comparison the Fiesta servo is half the size
