just curious as to whether i can find a better rad than the 1.6si rad i will be using?

no need, you should be ok with the one that you already have, change the coolant and replace for another rad if the one ur using has seen better days, if the engine does start to getr a bit warm fit a nice high performance slimline fan. some people even fit oil coolers

Ive got a nice alloy Mondeo radiator in my mk4 fiesta and it does the trick

I didn't mate but I imagine your 1.6 will be fine. I've thought about buying a brand new 1.6 rad but it's finding one that's the issue. That's the road I'll probably go down anyway as I haven't enough power to justify an alloy rad

would have thought a normal alloy rad from an rs fiesta would do if it has the same fittings. I know on escorts for 16v theres an alloy rad for an rs2000 but all the rads are the same size and same fittings

Did it fit? I had a mate who had issues with one, was missing a connection on it.
