Using a break setup from another car: what do i need to know

Postby DaveMCMkIII on Sat Feb 11, 2006 5:11 pm

If ive found a break set up that fits another type of car, what details do i need to know about this car to figure whether the same set up would fit the fiesta (e.g offset?)?

Disc offset, disc mounting hole PCD, caliper mounting holes, caliper size. There's so many factors. What car did the brakes come off originally?

you'll probably have a lot of hassle getting them to fit to be honest. Im pretty sure the disc mounting holes will be different for starters, and the caliper mounts will be different also. You're best off sticking with Ford products if you want to use manufacturer products as opposed to aftermarket stuff like AP and Hi-Spec. Have a look around for a brake set-up from a Cosworth 4x4, these are just about a straight fitment on Fiesta's and will give a marked improvement in the braking performance.
