V6 Mondeo Brakes

Postby PUREtom on Wed Feb 16, 2005 10:29 pm

I've got the oportunity to purchase some V6 mondeo front calipers for £30 on ebay.

Will they fit? What will need machining if they need it?

What discs and size would I need. Will the mondeo V6 ones fit?

I have tried searching a lot, but there seems to be some confusion over V6 mondeo ones and if they go on.

I understand that 4x4 sapphire ones will go on easier BUT they I can't find any!

Cheers

save your cash. ive fitted a set of calipers and discs from a late model 2 litre mondeo and there wanky to fit right. caliper brackets need machining after youve sussed out by how much, and you'll need a bigger master cylinder or the pedal will be near on the floor before the car starts to slow down.

Agree with Andy,

I fitted some to a Ka,

You need to get the carriers machined.

Apparently V6 calipers and 4x4 cosworth discs work with no machining though,

Um....there is def some confusion still!

So i'll need 4x4 cossie discs? escort or sierra? Where do I get them? I would have thought cosworth stuff is a mission to find.

But will the brake peddle be ok with this as 285andy says about the cylinder?

Thanks

I managed to pick up some 4x4 cosworth callipers on ebay last week for 30 odd quid mate. Havnt had them yet but they are supposed to be in excellent working order. Suppose it's just a matter of keeping your eyes peeled. Unless your after new stuff.
