vaccum hose?? Help!

Postby hudz_si on Sat Dec 17, 2005 1:37 am

I just fitted a K&N Bolt-on filter to my 1.1 Mk3.5 and I was told to block the vaccum hose with somethin such as a screw or a clip. The only thing im not sure about is what does this do?
I have also been told to attach a Breather Filter onto this Vaccum Hose, but it seems to just make an annoyin 'sucking' sound.
Can anybody give me advice about this? Thanks!

i think you will find your supposed to fit the breather filter to a breather pipe which used to go to the airbox which you have removed...

and the vaccum pipe that went to the airbox probably controls a little flap inside the airbox, so you simply block it up with a screw or something similar..

hope this helps :Q

Oh rite thanks. I have the breather filter attached to the oil filler cap and hav the vaccum hose blocked with a screw and a clip. This is how I've seen it in pictures, but I just want to get a clear idea incase I'm doing something wrong.
If anybody has pictures of how they've attached theirs that would b helpful :)
Thanks
