XR2 PROJECT SALE- looking for about £600 but will accept offers
The shell: is a mk2 1.1 popular shell, it has a couple of bit of rust as you can see by the pics but i got the repair panel for the rear passenger arch, just needs to be welded on.
Other than that the shell is immaculate, and you can see by the pics that its clear even behind the headlights, which is unusual no days.
Electrics: I have also fitted the original xr2 wiring loom and still have the standard 1.1 loom, if any wiring needs to be extended or replaced!!!
I have fitted both the rear fog lights and are both in working order, it has the standard rear clusters. i have two sets of front lights for some reason but hey there are all there if you want them, i have also got a set of square spots from halfords, the front indicator lenses are the standard ones but i think i got some clear ones somewhere. Has the xr wiper motor so the
intimitent wipers work.
The kit: I have the complete xr2 bodykit, comprising of 2xfront arches, 2xrear arches, 2xsideskirts, and the front and rear valances. Kit also includes the very rare tow eye cover and also the tailgate spoiler. i have the standard xr2 bumpers front and rear. have had some nice show plates made up which wont be needed!!!
Inside: full xr2 interior, comprising: both front seats (which both work properly) rear bench seat and backrest, standard xr centre console, standard xr parcel shelf without any cut outs, also have all the original doorcards and rear quarter cards, have the quarter cards for the boot. and the floor panels for the boot! i have also got the 1.1 pop door cards for any spares???
have all the interior carpet in good condition, inc soundproofing and also engine bay sound proofing.
Engine: The engine is the standard 1.6 cvh engine which has covered about 70000 miles. I have upgraded the engine now but was a brilliant runner and pulled really well before i rebuilt it, it has never smoked since i have owned it. like i said the upgrades, it now has a flowed and skimmed cylinder head which i put in a kent cvh22 cam in, it has a new cam belt, all valves re-ground to fit the head properly. I have fitted a brand new dizzy so no worries about that broken wiring connection, and i have fitted a brand new water pump, the oil pump i took off and gave a deep clean so i didnt have any probs with it and its fine. the engine is all up and running and sounds good, my need just a slight tweek on the dizzy to get it ticking over just right.
I have put an ashley 4 branch manifold on the front end and the zorst is what was on my original xr, i dont know what make it is, but it really does sound sweet on the car and it is in good condtion, has got a stamp on it, i assume manufacter but dont which one. the zorst is the best sound ever!!!
Suspension: I brought a complete sus kit for it lowered it 35mm and stiffened it up really nice, i have also got front and rear omp strut braces
Brakes: Only basics really, just upgraded discs to grooved and vented discs with green stuff pads. brakes prob need to be bleed a couple more times to get them a bit better, hene why it cant be drivin, but i have driven in driveway and all works fine other than brakes.
I have started to sand down parts of the shell ready for painting, and i have also undersealed the all around the bottom of the car, but not got onto under the arches yet!!
Other bits i have: a standard xr head with standard xr cam in it. Spare clutch cable, i think i got a spare starter motor, loadsa extra other bits. got some extras for the engine and bay area, some extra electrical parts and also some coolant items. the standard 1.1 pop dials and door cards.
I think this is about it, but i might have a few more little bits.
Would prefer to sell as a whole apart from the other bits, but will think about any good offers on parts, if i fail to sell.
