Any of you guys seen fast and the furious ??

Well the sound the Supra makes (fa fa fa) when chaging gear, how do you get that noise ????

I have been told you get it when you have more boost than standard and you have no dump valve !!!

is this right ????

if its the noise that i think u are talking about...u have to run increased boost levels without a dump valve (i prefer this sound to the ever so popular dump valve) and thats it.

Wrong!!.......the noise you will be hearing is the flutter from the return pressure from the turbo......you do NOT need to increase boost to hear that.
All you need is a cone filter.
The normal airbox baffles the sound, but with no cover you can hear the flutter.

negative air ?? you mean a vacumn ?? You only get a vacumn when the plenum chamber acts like a carb when there is zero boost.
The vacumn has nothing to do with the flutter. You get a flutter from the back pressure coming back through the blades of the turbo and the blades slowing down.

anyone ever heard negative and positive air collide ? as if you have could you tell me what it sounds like.........

The Escort Cosworth has a CAT and it has a turbo and will flutter to. The exhaust has nothing to do with it.

didnt think it would, but it is feasable that a cat would deminish some sounds, but as indicated in another forum it is a max power myth that a cat will make any real noticable difference :D

bassboy, know what a mk1 storm is?My friend has owned 6! There nothing like them. Where trying to plant a vr6 in it, his brother has a mk3 golf with all sorts of vents and abt, 17's, leather, vr6 taken to 3.0 with shreek cams head and MOTEC management, etc. The sound is unreal, and was featured in pvw around october 97. I want to sell my turbo for a corrado storm that im going to supercharge. You cant beat ze germans for build quality, reliability and comfort. Even on h&r coilovers the ride is fantastic.

A vortex is not negative air colliding with positive air....a vortex is due to something cutting the air and leaving a "wake" like a boat cuts through water you get waves left behind it.
A vortex happens usualy at the wing tips.....this can be shown by smoke as it swirls round.
