Webers

Over the standard throttle body, what improvements can be obtained by fitting a weber carb? More power/torque adn typically how much of an improvement?

I'm talking webers in general fitted to any engine. But for arguments sake take a 1.4 or 1.6CVH

for efi or mfi car its not really worth it for that size engine cost wise. would be easier to put a big throttle body on.
upgrading to a single carb would be pointless, twin carbs would go ok, but getting the manifolds for them would be interesting. and webers are pretty crappy carbs anyways, once you have used like dellortos you realise how bad webers really are for going out of tune, out of balance. :)
1.6cvh it would work ok, badgerboy has a set of twin twin 40 downdraught webers on his fez, but they drink fuel, bugger to start, and to tune

I have twin sidedraught Weber 40s on my Fiesta 1.6S. What can I say they are superb, the intake noise sounds awesome!! Granted I have built the car for trackdays so it sounds quite loud from the inside but quite on the outside. )There is no sound deadning in the car). I don't have any problems with it starting granted I won't be using it when its snowing outside etc, but on normal every days temps there is no problems. I had to take of the scuttle panel divider thats the metal bit with the rubber seal on top, for them to fit.
