weird grumbling nosie coming from air filter on tickover

ive got a weird grumbling noise from the air filter when i unplug the idle valve it goes away and when i plug the idle valbe back in it comes back any ideas what the cause is

Is it a new air filter or has it just started doing it

Cos if it was new youd just think it was the filter sounding different

no mate looks quite dirty aswell wonder if its restricted airflow
