Went 2day and got a dyno tune and power read on my xr2i 8v

the power peaked at 117bhp!

- the car was missfiring abit when running lean( i had changed the spark plugs 2 weeks ago, a oil change, new fuel and oil filter, and pump aswell) ( cud it be the silcon leads or the coil pack?)

- my fse boost valve was playing up aswell?
he suggested to get the original 1 frm ford? i wz thinking buying a new one!

the power pulley has to be adjusted propley
he did a bit and made a slight improvernt

he also said to change the crank sensor!

what the hell is that! and what does it do!

can you guys help me out pls! i need som advice and direction from what 2 do!

cuz i want my car ready for the track event for next week! and least kicking 125bhp!

cheers! peeps!

Sorry, cant help with the questions but i was just wondering what mods you've got on your XR2i. Just curious to see how they respond to tuning really. I'm sure a standard one should be around 108bhp.

Standard is 110 BHP on an 8v. they go quite well with a few mods, but to get a good raise is to put a cam in it.

doubt its the coil pack when they go its permanent misfires, use only ford original leads, the rest are crap, also make sure the plugs are gapped correctly and spray silicon grease inside the leads

yeah fse are ok, but can go wrong. standard ford unit is fully adjustable but any changes must be done in conjunction with rolling road set up

the power pulley has to be adjusted propley
he did a bit and made a slight improvernt

u on about vernier? needs to be done on rolling road
he also said to change the crank sensor!

can cause misfires, if u change this u MUST buy the modified gold connector loom with this as standard loom has steel/zinc contacts and new cps is gold plated so mix the 2 and the 2 substances react and cause high resistance and misfires!, its above the started 2 pin connector goes into the block and reads flywheel position.

what the hell is that! and what does it do!
