top right hand corner of engine bay behind the black panel that runs from on side of bay to the other it will have a rubber cover/grommet oover it which needs undoing then you can pull back and youll see the ecu and connector which needs unbolting from ecu then theirs a bolt at either side of ecu holding it in once these are undone it will drop down into passenger footwell so make sure you have someone rady to catch it i think all the nuts are 10mm if i remember correctly

hope this helps

You get to the ECU through the dash! I think

Heres a guide on how to fit one. NOTE. It might be different for your chip

Switch OFF the ignition and remove the ignition key
Remove the ECU from the vehicle. (behind dash)
Open and remove the casing of the ECU .
Check if the ECU needs any links added.
Remove any grease and/or laquer that may be on the edge connector.
Clean up the edge connector with scotch brite or fine emery paper.
Ensure that the edge connector is perfectly clean.
Discard the black plastic blanking plate, which covers the edge connector
Refit the ECU casing.
Fit the EEC module to the ECU edge connector.
Secure EEC module to the ECU using tape.
Ensure that the key is not in the ignition.
Refit the ECU to the vehicle.

Smooth SI :Clean up the edge connector with scotch brite or fine emery paper.
WARNING Do not use scotch brite or emery paper on the J3 connector. These are circuit board tracks, very thin and easily damaged. Use cellulose thinners or acetone to clean the connector after wiping the excess grease off.

Well I'd do it like this:

Unplug old ECU
Remove old ECU from car
Install new ECU in car
Plug in new ECU

Turn the ignition when inserting / removing the superchip
Put your head under the passenger side of the dash and look up
On your right hand side (nearest the passenger door) you'll see a silver box with a black bit of plastic on the bottom of it
Use a flat headed screwdriver to prise this off (black plastic cover)
Clean the grease off, i used cotton buds  and after most of it was off Mr Sheen glass cleaner on the contacts
(btw iirc that is electrical grease so if some left on it shouldn't matter)
Then plug in your Superchip (when inserted it shouldn't stick out past the side of your ECU iirc)
Start up the car and the first way you'll know if it has worked is if you hear the fuel pump constantly staying on :)

I'd use the Superchip whenever around town then if going onto a motorway etc, pull over turn off the engine and disconnect the restart and away you go for better economy mate :)

Try re-fitting it by the right way again you need the enging off the ecu out of the car open the euc up by the 4 or so small bolt's clean the part where the chip go's with brake cleaner every spec of grease must be removed then put it all back on the car plug the chip in make sure you use good double sided or some thing like that to hold the chip in as they can get nocked
