What best was to control boost? T3
Just in the process of changing my rs to t3 and want to know what best way to control the boost. It's running ofac just now and not going to mental with boost pressure as I know that ofac map sensor isn't up to too much, so would I be best to keep the Amal valve with the t3 or are there any other was to control boost?

If you intend on keep the boost on stock level, I see no reason to remove the amal valve. Otherwise, you can use a manual or electronic boost controller. Obviously the second choice needs setting up, (and the first one, it is just simpler), and is most expensive than the manual boost controller.

What spec are you going for? Standard pressure leave as it is.. If your going to stage 1 keep the amal and adjust the actuator for more.boost. If your going further there is 3 ways I would go
1 uprated actuator and keep the amal valve
2 get rid of amal valve and fit a manual boost controller, I would suggest a hawes device over the typical bleed valve worked alot.better in my experience
Or 3 fit and electronic boost controller
All pretty simple and easy to do but keep one rule in mind
If your changing the boost pressure from standard you MUST get the engine fueling and set up checked otherwise you will be causing problems

Re: What best was to control boost? T3
Thanks for the replys at the moment it has just had a stage 1 t3 fitted and also a airtec front mount. I've just spoke to Motorsport develoments who have advised on fitting a bleed valve/boost valve. I'm going to be getting the ecu chipped and the boost increased and set up properly before using the car. I've fitted the valve and turned it right down so as not to damage anything. I'm not going to be using the Amal valve what do I do with it do I leave it unplugged? The instructions of the valve says to leave it plugged in to the ecu but unsure what to do?

I found the normal bleed valves are quite a rough delivery and gave some bad boost spikes myself, hawes device is just as easy to use and set up but found it came into boost harder and stronger and didn't tail off like it did with a bleed valve
Amal valve yes just unplug it,take the vac hoses off and plumb in your boost controller instead of

Re: What best was to control boost? T3
Well to be honest I've not had much experience with boost controllers or bleed valves as this is the first car I've changed turbos and looking for more power as my old Subaru was quick enough no need to up boost on that lol I got a turbosmart tee valve not sure on there reputation for reliability ect. Do u have a link to this hawes thing as I can't seem to find it on google?
