What boost can I run on std Atuator?

Postby LeeM2 on Tue Sep 09, 2003 4:57 pm

I have a std acuator with the original T2 turbo. I'm running std boost but it's only hitting 0.4bar (7psi) and not even holding it.
Can I take it up to 8psi on the std actuator and how can I get it to hold the boost? Could it be a problem with my actuator or worn turbo?

My car's going into SCC Performance Car clinic on Friday so hopefully they will sort it :-D

0.4 bar is a touch under 6psi.

As standard FRST was set to run 0.5 bar which is a touch over 7psi.

I reckon the actuator could be adjusted for a few more psi but not certain on this or how you could make it hold boost better.

Alternatively a bleed valve could be used to adjust the pressure as long as you don't touch it after it has been set. (Believe me, you will be tempted.)
