What can i do to lower emissions??

CVH and Zetec tuning, suspension and braking mods.

What can i do to lower emissions??

Postby dee_RS_2ltr on Sun Apr 10, 2005 8:35 pm

my 2.0 is running on RS1800 loom and ECU. l've taken it to tuners and got the emissions down as low as it would go but its still running rich. would putting the original mondeo air filter on lower it futher? l need to get it down so it will pass MOT.

any ideas would be helpful, cheers

Does it have the CAT on?

One important thing to do is to take it for a thrash before the MOT, give it some stick. Does wonders to clean the emissions

hmm not sure if this applies or if it will help but if your lambda sensor is shot then you're emissions will be far too high, wouldn't be a bad idea to check when it was last replaced, if ever

If the HEGO sensor was changed was the battery disconnected too? When you change the sensor you need to clear the ecu's KAM memory so it can adapt to the new sensor.

The same thing goes for pretty much all sensors on the EEC-iv as supposedly identical sensors can vary by up to 15% on their outputs.

Half an hour of giving my peugeot death on way to test station, and then sitting with it at 2500rpm before the test to keep it warm got it through the emissions - The tester was laughing but said it woould have failed otherwise!

I think Cat testing goes on the registration number of the car. August 1992 and on (I think) required a Cat.

Wymm's "No Smoke" got mine through the MOT... :P
