An F reg MK3?
I thought the very earliest they came was G. You must have a rare motor there matey
As it's a carb motor mate it probably just needs a good service. My MK3 1.6s does exactly the same thing, runs poo when cold but purrs once there is a little heat in there.
Cheer up cos it will soon be spring/summer and then it just doesnt matter
Good call about not going to Liss, surely the land of the living dead!

i've just serviced the car... new oil filter and oil change, new air filter, spark plugs and valve clearences. she purred like a kitten... now the valves are tappin away again, lol.
I've been thinkin about some diaphram in the carb or somethin? i hthink its supposed to give it an extra squirt of fuel when it needs it or somethin... apparently they split sometimes maybe that could be causin me flat spot
i'd like to change to an automatic choke, but not sure how cuz i aint payin labour expenses for a garage to do it when i can probably do it myself... just need to know how anyone know?
