Right, what ECU's do you guys have?
working on 4 options for my 1.9 CVH at the mo. what do you think and what do you use?
1. Keep existing OFAB ECU and get it re-mapped
2. Cossie management instead
3. Pectel T2
4. DTA Fast ECU
any opinions?

grahamb,
your sites where I found out about the DTA fast ECU's. seem like good ones, and the price isn't too bad either.
what was it like setting it up and getting it running initially?

I've replied to your PM.
The engine ran first time, straight out of the box, with the generic 2.0 map that comes on the floppy disk with the ECU. Once I'd balanced the throttle bodies, it purred like a kitten. I've got the tickover down as far as 800 rpm, and its steady as a rock. It desperately needs a RR session now to get it to produce some usable horses, and theres a RR center in Northampton which I'll visit to get the thing calibrated. I am still trying to get http://www.ecuswap.co.uk up & running, so we can exchange maps...

Sorry Cross Wires! The PM was from someone else asking about the DTA.
I bought the ECU direct from Allan Warburton at DTA. He's the boss their.
Jim Hearne is also running the ECU on his ZVH Turbo. I've had a quick go in the car as a passenger, and the power was mindblowing.
It'll make your CVH run sweet as a nut, and as its so programmable, you'll be able to extract every last fraction of HP from it.
Are you going to continue with the std injection system, or go for throttle bodies?

I'm going to stick with the injection system, but change the injectors though. jim has used dark green 803's so was thinking of them.
need a lambda sensor too.
was thinking I might save up a bit more and go for the P8 pro instead. any views? not sure if I really need the extra features - ALS would be cool though! and it's got better traction control and launch control. extra £300 though!

Jim was talking about going the Pro route too. His ZVH Turbo is an absolute animal in the wet, so the additional traction control could come in handy. The sequential injectors would help with getting the mixture exactly right. My E48 fires all the injectors at the same time, which surprised me when I first bought it, but it is a tried and tested technique used by all the motor manufacturers.
Whatever you get, it'll be a complex wee beasty to setup, but once its up and running, you'll certainly be able to piss on most other 1.9's....
