What engine all are we all using?
Hi just wanted to know what oils everyone is currently using, im not sure what to use as i dont know what previous owner used. I am getting a new filter in the morning and all i hear is Helix is best....yet im told that by subi owners. Is the oil for them a lot thinner, as it should be thicker for my FRST?
Really appreciate reply, opinions
cheers

I use Mobil 1 Motorsport 15/50 which is a proper fully synthetic oil and not a hydracracked mineral oil like some

Same as unless I have replaced engine parts to be run in then I use a mineral based oil to help the components bed in. (as recommended by kent cams as the fully synthetic completely shagged a cam after 500 miles)

I was told that 5/30 would be too thin and to use the 10/60 or preferably 15/50 as they would suit the turbo better.
If in any doubt talk to Burton Power or someone similar.

My brother went in to have some machining work done and the technical guy told him it was all wrong and it wouldn't work. We know it works as it's exactly what mine has in it and nobody can say that that doesn't do what it says on the tin. The guy then proceeded to tell my brother that my S2 was s**t and couldn't make the claimed power (funny as it's been proven on 2 different roilling road on 2 different occasions ) and it was all pub BS like Christians 170mph S2 . Then he told us that stress relieving and beadblasting the rods would weaken them, then he kept changing his story about different things saying in one breath that he didn't read the cra mags to then saying he got them all free directly from the mag companies. Bloke was a complete prat and as such we've withdrawn any future business from them and will go elsewhere even if it costs us a bit more.

With a catch pan underneath undo the sump plug and let the oil drain out, remove the old oil filter.
Put the new filter on, sump plug in and fill with oil. Should take 3.6l to fill it up.
If in doubt check the Haynes manual it has full details
