What Engine transplant? IDEAS?
I ain't driving my Fez until next summer now - so now all the bodywork is done I'm gona change from the 1.1 LX CFi.......to something rather quicker methinks!
What is the best way to spend:
A) £300
B) £600
C) £1000
D)....£1000+whatever it takes to make a significant difference over spending £1000!!
.........and what performance can I expect out of each one??
(0-60 / BHP / Top end)
Thanks!

For £300-400 you could get a RST Turbo engine and fit that, but it would require lots of upgrades to everything, not just the engine. brakes, suspension etc
I would probably get an XR2i engine or something myself. Nippy without being too dangerous

Ummm... Best way is NOT to spend all your money moddin the golf or buying tacky mods...
Go for the xr2i option and tune it, or the 1.6s option with twin 40's, go for same as me...

Tacky......nah...... I'm done with the golf......just finished it now!
Just been to motorworld and got a Kenwood Sunstip, Chrome wheeltrims, Washerjet neons, wiper spoilers, viper strips, some tights for my rear lights and a neon exhaust trim...... Thank god it was a nightmare!
From what I've gathered a 1.6S is the easiest option as XR2i or RST engines need alot more things changing.
So......if I went with say 1.6S with twin 40's / 45's a fast road / race cam / full exhaust system and induction kit what price would I be looking at..?
And what BHP / 0-60 / top end?
After all that what else can I do to get it even more powerful and faster.....and for how much?
Ta!

Just wait.........next summer!

U know fullwell the skirts are sprayed now!
And as for maxpower wipers and the LED washerjets..........silver. In my opinion silver looks better than black. So I keep em!
Simple as!
Fout u were gettin an RS1800 interior for £25............I told u I'd have it if u did! And then the seat covers would be no more!!

then spend more than your possible grand getting it built correctly and more importantly mapped with the correct injectors not to mention the head you'll need and manifold turbo ect ect. a std mondeo 2.0 would set you back less be less involved being fitted and give a major increase over what you have at the minutePhilM :Put £300 in my hand and walk away with a 2ltr Zetec engine, a set of forged calibra turbo pistons (for a 2.1 zetec turbo) and a Zetec converted EFI flywheel

I would opt for a standard 2.0l 16v zetec to start with that would be a major increase in power for not that much $
