What is this and where does it go??!
Hi Guys,
Just changing my engine at the moment and this little control module is on the side of the air box, see attached picture.
My question are:
What is it?
Where does it go to?
What does it do?
Any diagrams or instructions on where or how the pipes go on would be great as I do not have a clue.
Regards.

Re: What is this and where does it go??!
I assume you are putting in an rst engine then.. That would be the AMAL valve , this is basically a electronic boost controller if you like , one vac hose will go from a T piece between the turbo'd compressor housing and the actuator and the other vac hose will go back into your airbox , it monitores boost and tells the ecu how much your running etc. tbh there not needed and you can simply un plug it and take it off then just run the vac hose straight from the actuator to the compressor housing WARNING if you set up the turbo like how I said ^^ then your turbo will boost to whatever your actuator is set at! So when you remove the valve take it for a test run to check the boost is the same , or you can take the rod off and set it to standard pre load if you don't want to risk it then adjust from there if need be.

just for future reference(plus if you ever order one) its a boost control valve and made by ford not amal. amal only made the valves for escort rsts and saff cossies.

I thought it was a ford term for an electronic bleed valve - you learn something new every day, thanks !
Nothing to see here...
