Pirelli p6000 are the original tyres for those rims - 185 55 14

4 of them worked out to £232 before vat, with fitting and balancing it was £282 with the vat.

You can go for cheaper tyres but then you wont benifit from the grip of the exspensive tyres.

I had toyo proxy tyres on my xr2i, they were good but to be honest wore out the same as every other tyre i have ever had.
I went around 8 different tyre sellers and no one could get toyo proxy

The pirrelli tyres have superb grip. My car handles great on the 14's.
Each to there own.... plus pirrelli tyres came standard on the Rs

Don't care who slates me...... the next set of tyres on my Fiesta will be Kumho. Bought a full set for my Golf Anniversary, which is on 18's, cost me £232 for the set delivered, I have a tyre fitter in the family so it costs me naff all for fitting! :D They aint a bad tread pattern and have performed very well on the Golf and we do some serious mileage in it too.

You can get two 185/55/14's for £70 plus delivery off ebay. Firestones aren't bad either, got two at a local garage fitted for £90.

My mate swears by Cooper tyres, although he aint managed to persuade me to move away from Kumho.

It wouldn't have been Pirelli P6000s on the FRST originally, they are an old tyre but not that old! iirc P600s or P700s.

I had P6000 on a MK2 XR2 and I've got P-Zeros on the Focus and I'd recommend them all day long.

Knuckles - I reckon you paid far to much for those tyres £220 fitted would be about right for Pirellis.

Correct, they were P600's. In terms of price, the price knuckles said is about right, trader/mates rates, willy waggling aside. I think I paid about £260 for mine...

Willy waggling

tompeteRS :Knuckles - I reckon you paid far to much for those tyres - £220 fitted would be about right for Pirelli's.

The guy quoted 2 sizes and 2 prices
185/55/14 £58 each
185/60/14 £45 each

The 60 profiles would look like 4x4 wheels on the 14's. So i opted for the original size.

Tom - the tyres alone before vat came to £232 ,fitting and balancing added then the 17.5%.... i don't know how you get them that cheap. Probably lots of willy waggling :D
