Best option, engine transplant. The 1.6 zetec is an econemy engine and you will always struggle to get any power out of it. Cheaper in the long run to stick a larger engine in it..

I can't change the engine from standard 'cos of insurance difficulties and I actually quite like my Si anyway.

I'm thinking of having the engine blueprinted - anyone ever done this / had this done ? Also wondered about having cylinder head gas flowed - but would that count as modding from standard (i.e. away from blueprints) or returning the engine to how it should be ?

Any thoughts anyone ? I was looking to specialised engines to do the work - but they are quite a distance away. I'd like to know if there's anyone further north (I'm in Sheffield) who is known to be sound and will do the work. Any ideas ?

I saw the fiesta with a 2.0 zetec engine. how much would that cost to buy and stick under the bonnet? what other engines have the same mounting points as mt fiesta? i dont think the insurance would like it much.
