the car is currently being used by the misses while she learns to drive, but when she gets summit else i plan on dropping a bigger lump into it, so what the biggest i can fit without making major chages to eberything else?

Depends how much you wanna do, my 1.1 has a 1.8 Zetec in it, could fit a 2.0 zetec, 1.6 cvh etc...

Go for it mate, mine has a 116bhp 1.8 in it and its nippy, the 2.0 has 130bhp so should go v-well, but keep the body as a standard 1.1 :wink:

will it need to come from any specific ford?
