Whats your favourite type of alcohol.. bit of fun.
Just thought i would get something going, could turn out to be a good chat like most topics lol.
Ok so everyone has a favourite type of alcohol either it be beer/lager, cider, ale, bitter ect ect.. so whats your favourite?
Also, we all love spirits dont we!? You know the stuff! Vodka, whisky, scotch, rum, gin ect ect. So whats your favourite. What do you like to mix it with too (coke, lemonade, orange ect)?
What about shots? Sambuca, tequila ect ect.

I drink most lager/beers, favourite being Stella but its has to be out of the pump, the bottles/cans don't taste the same.
Favourite Cider would have to be bullmers
Favorite spirit would be vodka and redbull
Favourite shot would have to be either Blackcurrent sourz or Goldschlager, Sambucca makes me sick

Re: Whats your favourite type of alcohol.. bit of fun.
Top post! Alcohol is always something I can enjoy talking about.
Favourite has to be a good single malt scotch, served neat, no ice, with a couple of drops of water (no more). I prefer Speyside malts but I'm not a fan of the Islay malts I've tried. Currently sampling a bottle of very nice Longmorn 12-year-old, though I think my favourite is still Glenlivet.
However, beer is what I drink most of; I'm more of an ale/bitter drinker though I've also become partial to porter more recently. I especially enjoy anything brewed by Badger, anything brewed by Bowman, Flowers Best, Marstons Pedigree, Courage Directors, Fullers Honeydew, and Ringwood Fortyniner. That said, if I'm thirsty I really like a cold pint of 1664 or Hofbrau. I also really enjoy Austrian/Bavarian wheat beers such as Edelweiss and Weihenstephaner.
I'm also very partial to a glass of red wine; enjoy southern French vin de pays when I'm over there or quite a lot of New World stuff. Current favourite is either Wolf Blass's Eaglehawk Shiraz as a good value choice, or the Altos Las Hormigas Malbec from Argentina for something more special.
Yes, I am an old man at heart.

My absolute fave drink ever is vodka and tonic with ice and a nice slice of lime. So refreshing!
Strongbow (and bulmers etc etc) isn't cider, it's pee! I like Henry Westons Vintage stuff. That's good s**t.
I like wine too!

beer/cider- I can't stand the smell of beer. Cider...ahhhh cold pint of bulmers with ice in
spirit - Can't touch spirits
shot - Can't really touch these either. I do like a glass of white wine....not keen on dry stuff though
I don't drink very often so when I do I tend to get trousered rather quickly Most who know me on here will testify that I only need to sniff a glass of wine to be on the deck

I've had a couple of bottles of the Wolf Blass Eaglehawk in chateau du Poisson recently on your recommendation; I found it as much a nice evening tipple as a cooking wine, as the fruity flavour stays if you don't boil the hell out of it in a pan.
Whilst it's an IPA and lighter than your tastes in darker flavoured beers, I'd recommend you try a bottle of Whitstable Bay organic IPA - very easygoing, a sort of lager of IPAs but definitely not characterless.
My friend showed me the light of Czech lagers - for a commercially available lager, Staropramen is still a fantastic tipple in my book.
For mainline lagers I'd always go for a Corona and lime over any other substitute.

Mmm alcohol, my favourite subject
At the pub it's always a pint of Carling with lime.
And at home, normally Jaques, or Amaretto and coke (3 litres ready for Xmas )
I do drink pretty much anything though

If you can imagine the language of Steven Fry but spoken by a cab driver, you're coming close to understanding what conversation with Grant is like.
Five QI points to anyone who can spot the irony of that remark.

I was actually looking for 'Steven Fry is a cab driver', because he in fact owns an out-of-service black cab which he regularly drives around London. However, it is because of this that he decided to drive a black cab all round the US for a recent TV series. So you get two and a half points.

I have to agree, looking back at the way Capris used to write compared to now is hiliarious.
I am sure in a few posts he used text speak
Don't think there is much chance of that happening anymore

Is it wrong that I knew that without looking it up...? I'll collect my complimentary anorak at the door.
I actually like "girly alcopops" as people I know refer to them.
Mainly Smirnoff Ice.
Vodka and lemonade (which is pretty much what Ice is anyway) or vodka and coke is fine though.
Apparently I don't react well to JD.
I am quite partial to a good Scrumpy too.
Or wine... favourites are Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir or Primivito.
