where the engine number on the 2.0 mk1 mondeo engine?

where the engine number on the 2.0 mk1 mondeo engine?

i need it so i can buy a ECU. someone told me its either on the left or the right hand side of the block. is it possible to read it without taking nething off the engine?

cheers for that link matt. was the number on the front or back of the block, i couldn't really tell from the picture and it looked like the engine wasnt i the car. i take it that its not easy to look at if its already in?

Its on the front of the block, at the gearbox end.
mines pretty difficult to see, but thats due to the turbo/pipes/paint down there, should be able to see it in the car, but maybe a little wire brush/sandpaper may be needed to remove any corrosion/dirt

FOUND IT!!! :D :D :D

was covered in dirt couldnt see anything untill i started scrubing. had to remove air filter but that was it. Well happy now!
