I'm stumped as well - it would be worth posting on the STOC / RSOC boards as no doubt someone with a MK1 will have fitted a double-din unit. I can't even see one on autoleads site.

ive looked everywhere, even found a post on the RSOC, and one guy said they cant be got in the uk so ordered some from the states, but that was 8 months ago, so ive assumed they could be got here by now :-? but so far, found nothing :(
looks like i might have to order from the states, i dont mind doing that but the postage cost at some places is stupid, and they say things like 6 weeks delivery, wtf is that about! i dont fancy paying $40 for 7 day shipping too

gotta be someone in the uk that stocks them, im stumped too

MK1 focus is same radio as Mk4/5 fiesta aint it?

If so, it's only got a 1.5 din sized hole...

its a 1.8 din mate, so wont take a full 2 din unit with the cage, but the unit can be fitted with the above kit

not all double din units are the same size though, it just happens the one i got is full size  but again, with the above kit, and a little trimming of a couple of tabs etc, it can be fitted

this is a pic ripped from the net of the said kit fitted with a full double din size head unit

problem sorted.

just done a buy it now on a kit on us ebay.
buy it now $9.99 shipping, $14, so $24.99, the convertor i used on line converted this to about £16, if thats right or not i dunno, but ive done more searching this evening and found absolutly F*CK ALL in the uk so bit the bullet.
matey reckons 1-2 weeks delivery, hope its not much longer

anyway, cheers anyway guys, ill move this to ICE room now
