Which Bass subwoofer to go with my system?

I have had my headunit changed:

The speakers (I only have fronts) have been changed (last Friday), but the new ones will not take as much bass as the Ford OEM ones, but sound more defined.

As I have a lack of bass in my new speakers, I need some bass speaker.

I have the idea (as I don't want it to take up too much space) of this:

Are these type of subwoofers any good?
and where would it be put? under one of the front seats? in the front passenger footwell? by/on the side of one back wheel arch?

your money would be better spent else where...my front end alone sounds bassier than what those active things do...the money you will spend on those, i would personally invest in a good set of components and an amp for them...also spend some money on sound deadening the doors and then see how it all adds up...trust me you would have more enjoyment from your music with the above setup than one of those active things...as a temp measure, you could also just deaden the doors with the existing equipment as it will get the most out of them for the power they run...

failing that, i would also heavily consider running a little 8" sub in the boot as i finished a Yaris today with a CDT sub and it sounded great for sucha little sub!!

I have the foam that's behind the door card. (which is sound deadening as such)
I take it you mean there's more that can be done?

the standard deadening is shocking...if you tap the outside of the car it will sound VERY VERY tinny...once the correct sound deadening has been applied, when you tap the door, it will sound solid...and not resonate in the slightest...

what you need to do, is seal up the doors as well as you can...this way the speaker will be playing into as close to a sealed enclosure as possible...bass will improve, the sound will have more depth, will be warmer, will just sound SO much better than a door with no work done to it...

have a look here how much sound deadening you can actually put in a car to help stop rattle teamspb-project-fiesta-box-finished-28-10-08-vt171080/

Have a look at the yaris install... teamspb-install-into-a-toyota-yaris-vt171973/ it shows how a simple install should be installed and gotten the most out of...

so the material is some sort of sound reflective, sticky backed foil?

How would I go about getting it done?
