I wouldn't use a Superchip195, they (if i remember correct) advance the timing too much which is not good for high power.
You would be much better in getting a custom mapped chip for your car.

Unichip is around £500-600 fitted and mapped, its done on the rollers, and mapped via a laptop-only dealers have the software to map it.. The performance will all depend on your tuner as their are some really cack companies out their!!.

There are 2 problems with Unichips :
1: They DO NOT bypass the over boost protection, you need to get a seperate chip to plug in the ECU to do this, that is why they cost £600. You get 2 chips.
2: You need to trust someone to solder the chip into your loom. As i have said before, i have never seen a mechanic who can solder good enough for that kind of job. You need an electronic technician, (like me), for this job and someone with some experience, sorry i'm not travelling anywhere to do this job
Horror stories of Unichips are starting to appear
You would be much better to get someone like Ahmed or another tuner who does custom mapped chips that plug in, a lot safer.

£600 + fitting and rolling roaded-your getting ripped off!!!!!!!
Mark down at Owen developments does all mine, i get a good price of him aswell. As far as i`m concerned he is the best around this area, spends alot of his time tuning race cars, 1 month wait to get to see him though!!. Cost me £587.50 for the unichip, superchip delimiter, fitting and a full mapping session-i supplied a -32 actuator(when i had the t2)-he fitted this aswell for me at the same time. He also plumbed the actuator straight to the manifold at the same time to get a more accurate boost pressure, and ditched the amal valve..

But then again this may be the price to me, as i know he done me a cracking deal.. I think they also sent though a different chip, as he said it should cost alot more than this but this is what they sent though and they charged for the cheaper one so he just fitted it for me , this was ages ago and cant remember exactly

I know exactly what your saying Andy
i have 6 years experience and hold a certificate for the European standard for soldering.......same as NASA spec and i would be confident in doing it, but tuners will let someone who might have done a day course get in about your loom no thanks!!!!

Mine was fitted fine and withou problems..
VERY good for setting up car, get 3D graph of the mixtures and revs etc, the fuelling is setup on EVERY part of the rev range and it is spot on..
I wouldnt go get a mechanic to fit my uni-chip, thats why i went to a tuning company that are uni-cihp deallers and trained to do this.. The bloke that put mine is is not just a "mechanic"
I would defo recommend a Unichip

Ian, i'm glad your Uni-chip is fine, but why spend £600 on a chip ???? when you can get a custom chip for a lot less than that........
Chumkila...your "engineer" got the qualifications to prove he's an engineer ?? I have heard of "garage personnel" calling themselves engineers, but all they have is a City and Guilds or something similar. That does not make them an engineer
