Which oil pump to go for ?! Help!

Postby Frst123 on Wed Nov 20, 2013 12:03 am

Currently building a fiesta rs turbo engine and need a new oil pump, i was wondering what one to go for? a standard one, high pressure or another after market one ? The car should hopefully be running just over the 200bhp mark.

Cheers !

In my experience its best to use an original ford item from a working good known bottom end ,and also make sure its within factory tolerance too

Newer pumps are made from far more inferior metals :(

Gen Ford...Uprated pumps just contain a stronger spring which can be bought and added in place of the standard spring, for £4. Dont buy a burton one!!

Alternatively Motex sell OE oil pumps that are made in germany and fitted to Mercs And BMWs which alot of engine builders use as new Gen Ford pumps are becoming very hard to get (Post 86 which is what you need that is!!)
